‘Gully Boy’ spin-off in the works

Upcoming film to focus on MC Sher’s journey through life

It’s no easy feat to be a newcomer and hold your own in a shot that has seasoned superstars like Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh in it as well. But somehow, up and coming Bollywood heartthrob Siddhant Chaturvedi managed to do that in one go.

As the fan favourite MC Sher from Gully Boy, Siddhant won hearts across the world. His portrayal of the struggling rapper from the slums of Mumbai stole the limelight when the film released back in February, giving female film fanatics a new face to ogle over. And soon enough, they’re going to get to see him in his very own spin-off film!



Yup, you read that right! According to India Times, MC Sher is getting his own standalone feature. Celebrated Bollywood film-maker Zoya Akhtar, who was the brains behind Gully Boy, is reportedly planning for a spin-off focused solely on Siddhant’s career-defining role from the film.

“The film is entirely based on Siddhant’s character and traces MC Sher’s journey to becoming a hero,” Mumbai Mirror quoted a source as saying. “This will also give the makers a chance to delve deeper into hip-hop culture and you can expect many engaging rap battles.”

Needless to say, we can’t wait to see MC Sher once again!
