QUETTA: Balochistan former chief minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch has said the issues of Balochistan are purely political in nature and resolving these issues through power would produce negative effects.

“Pakistan could not move towards stability until the practice of stealing people’s mandate is stopped. We will fight conspiracies against the 18th amendment,” Dr Baloch said while addressing a gathering of the National Party (NP) workers and leaders at Jhat Path.

Other members of the National Party including Jan Mohammad Buledi said Balochistan is suffering from many ills including illiteracy, poverty and extremism. These diseases are our enemies. The political works should start efforts to cure them, he said.

They said the recent floods had badly affected the areas of Naseerabad Division. Representatives of the provincial government are only making hollow claims but not doing anything practical, they said.

They claimed that July 25, 2018, General Election was highly rigged. The NP was defeated through rigging. In order to organize the party, the key leadership would have to play their role, they added.
