Enrolment campaign starts across K-P

The K-P Education Department has set a target to enrol more than 800,000 children in government schools

PESHAWAR: Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government on Saturday started province-wide special enrolment campaign Ao Bachon, School Chalain or come children, let’s go to school.

The K-P Elementary and Secondary Education Department has set a target to enrol more than 800,000 children in government schools across the province during the ongoing education year while the focal person has stated that the drive has been started in all government schools across the province on 8th April 2019.

In this connection, Launching Ceremony held at tribal District Khyber, and Chief Minister Mahmood Khan was the special guest on the occasion. Advisor to CM K-P on Elementary and Secondary Education Zia Ullah Khan Bangash launched this special Enrolment Campaign 2019 at Upper Kohistan, Lower Kohistan, Kolai Palas and Shangla districts during his 4 days visit to Kohistan and other districts of Hazara Region.

Meanwhile a notification has been issued private school regulatory authority, stated that no private school could forced the parents or students to buy books and stationary from the school, they could buy from anywhere and any shop of their desired.

Any school violated the code of conduct, they would be charged according to the regulatory authority rules and action would be taken against the schools.

Last month, to spread the light of education in the backward areas of the province and tribal districts, Provincial education ministry has announced to employed low cadre teachers for enhancing literacy rate and also to decrease the drop-out ratio in province.

Meanwhile, Students from various schools staged an awareness walk in Gomal locality to promote government drive for enrolment of out of school children. The school-children, led by their teachers were chanting slogans and displaying cards with motivational message for educating kids at every cost.

The walk, comprising students and teachers from Atak Khel, Kot Wali and Kot Khaddak and local notables, begin from Government Primary School (GPS) Kot Hakim to Jatta Qila.
