Is SRK taking a break from acting?

Actor appears unsure of his next project in new interview

It’s no breaking news that Shah Rukh Khan has been having a tough time with his films of late. Most of his recent releases have done mediocre business at best and fans and critics have been wondering why Bollywood’s King Khan signed them in the first place. Films like Raees, Jab Harry Met Sejal, Dilwale and Zero were films he could easily have done without - especially at a time when the other Khans of Bollywood have been pulling their weight with projects like Dangal, Sacred Games and Bajrangi Bhaijaan.

With 2014’s Happy New Year being his last hit, could this be it for SRK? Of course, SRK-loyalists would argue otherwise. But judging from a recent Q&A session the actor had on his Twitter, it’s beginning to look like he himself has become unsure of his star power.

“At this point, I have yet to decide on anything. I am just listening to film scripts,” said the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai star during the interview. “I am not to spend some time just listening to scripts and hopefully, by June, I should take a call on which film I want to do next,” he added.

On the other hand, there have been rumours that SRK has already chosen his next project, reported Times of India. According to the publication, the Om Shanti Om actor had allegedly given a nod to Rakesh Sharma’s Salute last year and apparently began working on it right after wrapping up Zero. Guess we’ll just have to wait for a confirmation from the man himself to be sure.
