Athletes from the seven tribal districts, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Khurram, North Waziristan and South Waziristan, and six sub-districts Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Lakki, and Tank marched into the arena.
Women athletes will be taking part in five events including athletics, badminton, table tennis, volleyball and tug-of-war. The male athletes will be competing for medals in athletics, archery, basketball, badminton, boxing, cycling, cricket, football, netball, gymnastic, hockey, judo, jujitsu, karate, kabaddi, rugby, tug-of-war, shooting, tennis, taekwondo, volleyball, wushu, baseball, bodybuilding and weightlifting.
All the games are being organised in seven different tribal districts in order to provide ample opportunities to the players of merger tribal districts.
Speaking on this occasion, Senior Minister Atif Khan lauded the tribal youth for their active participation and added that there is no dearth of talent in the tribal districts and through such tournament we are providing opportunities to channelize the energies in proper manners.
