UoP to host expo to highlight technology intervention in disaster reduction

PESHAWAR: University of Peshawar will host an expo for highlighting how to use technology for reducing damage risk of disaster.

The expo planned for April 25 follows a series of disasters the province has suffered in the wake of changing climatic patterns and high level of exposure of the country to natural hazards.

IGP calls for use of technology to curb crime

In this regard, the Center for Disaster Preparedness and Management, University of Peshawar has organized a one day Expo on Technology-Mediated Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Climate Change Adaptation and Sustainable Development at PUTA Hall, the University of Peshawar on April 25.

Expo will house Disaster Management Authorities, Academic Institutions, Government Departments, United Nations, INGOs, NGOs, and Companies working in the field. These organisations will display their products, equipment, literature, research, models and software.

Moreover, they will also share their development stories, progress reports, with the visitors and would help create awareness among the public at large about climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction.

The Expo will provide opportunities to sensitise the common masses and students of the University campus regarding disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation.
