If Kangana Ranaut's seemingly endless grudge against Alia Bhatt wasn't enough, her sister Rangoli Chandel has also decided to pick a war of words with the Raazi starlet. In fact, she has taken it a step further by attacking Bhatt’s mother Soni Razdan and her Highway co-actor Randeep Hooda, reported Business Standard.

Now, it’s no breaking news that Ranaut has been calling out Bhatt for a while now. She began by calling the latter a “product of Karan Johar’s nepotistic gang” and then, went on to accuse her of not supporting Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. According to the actor, this is all a part of a "strange sort of racket" in a section of the film industry. Ranaut continues to make negative remarks about Bhatt, the latest being her "mediocre" performance in the otherwise widely lauded Gully Boy.

Bhatt, on the other hand, has mostly ignored the advances. The one time she did comment on Ranaut was when she said, "I respect Kangana's work a lot and I respect her opinion. If she feels a particular way, she must have reason to. I would rather remember how much she had praised me after watching Raazi and just to focus on my work. Maybe she will appreciate me again if I work hard enough."

But the rift between the two leading ladies took a different turn when Chandel jumped in, calling Bhatt and Razdan "non-Indians who are living off the land, using and abusing its people and its resources, lying about intolerance and spreading hatred.” She was referring to their British nationalities. “Time to think about their agenda and not to get carried away with their provocations," she added.

This prompted Razdan to finally speak up too. In a now-deleted tweet, the yesteryear starlet wrote, "Mahesh Bhatt is the man who has given Kangana Ranaut her break. She goes on to attack his wife and daughter, over and over again. What is left to be said then about abusing and hatred, I wonder? Apart from character of course. Agenda. What's hers?"

And of course, Chandel responded soon after. "Dear Soni jee, Mahesh Bhatt never gave her a break - Anurag Basu did. Mahesh Bhatt works as a creative director in his brother's production house. Please note that he doesn't own that production house,” she said. “After Woh Lamhe, when Kangana refused to do a film called Dhokha written by him, where he wanted her to play a suicide bomber, he got so upset that he not only shouted at her but later, when she went to the Woh Lamhe preview at a theatre, he threw a chappal at her. He didn't allow her to see her own film. She cried the whole night and she was just 19 years old then."

Hooda took notice of this Twitter tirade and stepped in to support Bhatt. "Dearest Alia, I'm so glad you are not letting the opinions of very occasional actors and chronic victims affect you and your work. Kudos to you for your continued efforts to outdo yourself." Chandel, however, claimed he had been pushed to defend Bhatt as the "nepotism gang" didn't have the courage. She even called him a "permanent failure."
