An inquiry has been initiated against the suspended officials
LAHORE:
During a visit to Gujranwala on Tuesday, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar dismissed five officials after receiving complaints of bribery and negligence.
District Education Authority CEO Farooq was suspended for being negligent on duty along with Tehsildar Khwaja Nadeem and Sub-registrar Ansar Sagheer Khan.
An inquiry has been initiated against the suspended officials. The chief minister made it clear that those officials, who fail to serve the people, have no right to remain on their posts.
The CM also visited the Ghakhar Sports Arena which is currently under construction. He stated that this sports facility, which will be completed at a cost of Rs370 million, will have grounds for cricket, hockey and football while courts for tennis, basketball and volleyball will also be built.
The sports arena will provide the youth with opportunities to exhibit their talent. “The provision of sports facilities is the government’s top priority,” he said.
Later, Buzdar also inaugurated a shelter home at General Bus Stand and also inspected the facilities being provided. He said that homes are being constructed in every district in the province to provide the homeless with a shelter, food and medical facilities.
Speaking to the media, the CM said that a feasibility report, for setting up a university in Gujranwala, will also be reviewed. The people will be empowered in the new local bodies system, he said.
