Government school hosts its first-ever science exhibition

25 projects were presented on pollution, the human anatomy and technology

DARYA KHAN: Government Girls High School Bharmi Nawab, which stands in the middle of a field, hosted its first-ever science exhibition on Monday. Students presented more than 25 projects on topics such as pollution, the human anatomy and technology.

Further, a medical camp was also set up at the exhibition where equipment such as stethoscopes and blood pressure apparatus were displayed. Students were also informed about the uses of the different kinds of medical equipment.

District Education Authority CEO Mian Riaz was also present at the occasion. Speaking to The Express Tribune, Headmistress Humaira Khalid revealed that the school was established in 1987. Since its establishment, the school had never organised a science fair, she said.

The science exhibition was organised in collaboration with the British Counsel’s International School Award, she stated adding that more than 20 schools in Bhakkar district were involved in the project. She also thanked her staff in helping to organise the exhibition, stating that the event was made possible because of everybody’s collective efforts.

District Education Authority CEO Mian also appreciated the science exhibition and gave an appreciation shield to the headmistress. Meanwhile, the students who participated in the science fair said that such activities should be organised regularly so that children are able to learn and grasp new concepts.
