He was speaking at a ceremony organised at Lahore Command and Control Centre, Ferozepur Road, Lahore to review the performance of MAS and to share the experiences of field staff in order to further improve emergency response. Rescue 1122 claimed an average response time of 4 minutes.
Deputy Commissioner Lahore Division Saliha Saeed appreciated the Rescue 1122 team for this unique initiative and lauded the exemplary performance of staff and officials responsible for the service. She also highlighted that Rescue 1122 is a model organisation which is providing the same standard of services to citizens living in all districts across the province, as observed in district Hafizabad.
"It is a matter of pride for me that the service has managed over 0.1 million emergencies with an average response time of 4 minutes and provided a sense of safety to the citizens of Lahore," she said. The district government shall also present cash awards to the best performers of the
Motorbike Ambulance Service team, she added. Dr Naseer appreciated the MAS staff for providing exemplary services to the victims of over 0.1 million accidents and emergencies. It has also been observed that the average response time has also improved significantly as the service provides an effective response while navigating traffic jams and congested areas with narrow streets to tend to traffic crashes and medical emergencies.
The director general said that the first responders on motorcycles have enhanced the operational efficiency of Rescue 1122 and have overcome urban challenges in emergency response by ensuring immediate first-hand professional handling of emergency victims and provided a sense of safety amongst citizens living in major cities of Punjab. The operational staff also shared their experiences with DG Rescue Punjab and said that when we respond to emergencies within four minutes and rescue them without discrimination, people are surprised.
There is no substitute for the prayers coming from the hearts of these victims. These prayers give us the motivation to serve humanity despite all the challenges we face. The Motorbike Ambulance Service was launched on October 10, 2017, in Lahore before being expanded to the remaining divisional headquarters including Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Rawalpindi and Sahiwal with 900 motorbike ambulances and emergency medical technicians.
