Victim’s relatives protest against the incident and demand action against hospital staff

BAHAWALPUR: A woman died due to the alleged negligence of doctors at Bahawal Victoria Hospital, Express News reported. The victim’s relatives lodged a protest against the incident and demanded action against hospital staff.

Amjad’s wife Yasmeen Bibi was brought to the health facility after she suffered delivery pain.

However, none of the doctors and medical staff on duty tended to the patient. After waiting for hours, the woman breathed her last. Later, the family members of the victim protested against the incident and demanded of provincial health minister to take notice of the matter.

Earlier, a woman and her unborn child died due to the alleged negligence of doctors at Civil Hospital.

Ejaz took his wife Ayesha Bibi to hospital after she went into labour. Doctors told him to take his wife to a private clinic instead. However, Ejaz insisted his wife be admitted to the government hospital as he could not afford a private clinic.

Doctors shifted Ayesha Bibi to a room where she waited two days without any medical help. She was taken to the labour room and given anaesthesia without conducting a proper evaluation which caused her condition to deteriorate rapidly. Later, both the mother and the unborn child died.
