RDA suspends plans for four housing societies

Housing societies directed to refrain from indulging in any transaction over plots

RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has decided to suspend the planning permission granted to four housing societies during the tenure of the authority’s previous director general (DG) RDA.

The incumbent RDA director general and the chief commissioner of Rawalpindi, Joudat Ayaz, had on Saturday expressed reservations over the planning permissions granted to the four housing societies. Subsequently, the RDA Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering Director Jamshed Aftab cancelled permissions granted to these schemes for violating their terms.

Further, the housing societies were directed to refrain from indulging in any transaction over plots, including advertisement of their plots, their development or selling them.

To protect the public from being defrauded, RDA instructed people to visit website and to check list of cleared housing agencies before finalising any deal for a plot.
