QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan has assured the Hazara community of his government’s all-out support in addressing their grievances, saying the menace of terrorism will soon be eradicated.

During his visit to the Hazara Town on Saturday – a day after 20 people, including eight members of the Hazara community and an FC personnel were martyred in a suicide attack, the chief minister offered condolences to the families of the victims.

Expressing his sorrow over the incident, Kamal said, “The threat of terrorism is not being faced by a specific community, rather the entire country is bearing the brunt of it.”

He also appealed to the Hazara community members to end their protest on the Northern Bypass, adding that the government would leave no stone unturned in holding to account those responsible for the barbaric attack.

“The protection of the lives and property of every citizen, irrespective of their ethnic and other attachments, is included in the responsibilities of the government. We will spare no efforts in fulfilling our responsibilities,” he said.

He said the provincial government would enlist the support of political, religious and tribal leaders for the establishment of peace in the province.

Kamal pointed out that militant elements were trying to create differences among the people to deteriorate the law and order situation. “We should strengthen unity in our rows to foil the nefarious designs of our enemies,” he said.

He also paid tribute to the Hazara community for its perseverance and resilience.
