WANA: After South Waziristan, where cases of Leishmania have crossed over thirty thousand,  reports of the disease spreading to Tank have been received where two cases have already been reported from a village in the region.

While the government institutions are busy in ‘Green and Clean Pakistan’ and have little time to address and concentrate on the Leishmania issue locals have demanded that security forces take over matters relating to the disease in the South Waziristan Tank districts.

According to information coming in from district South Waziristan, Leishmania has reached epidemic proportions and DHQ hasn’t that much expertise to tackle the epidemic properly, while locals speaking to the Daily Express urged the security forces to take the issue in hand and take responsibility for eradicating the disease.

There are no medicines available in Tank district as yet another three fresh cases surfaced in the district while the district administration has stated that the medicine would be available until by the 20th of this month.
