RAWALPINDI: Visually impaired men took to the streets on not being granted their share in government jobs. The protesters blocked Liaqaut Chowk at Murree Road at 9am.

The Blind Association Chairman Nabeel Ahmed Satti accused the district administration of not recruiting educated blind people despite clear orders by the Punjab government. “We are denied any relaxation in university admissions, public transport fares and other things despite being visually impaired,” he added.

He stated that the administration had not kept the promise to give visually impaired people 3% job quota which it made many times earlier and pledged that they would not go away this time until their demands were met.

The protest halted the traffic flow owing to which commuters faced several difficulties.
