PESHAWAR: Trapped in debt, an unemployed man opened fire on his wife and five children and then turned the gun to himself to end his life. According to police Syed Rasool was a jeweller by profession.
He lived in the Mohallah Qaziyan in the limits of the Tank police station. He was unemployed since long and had taken heavy loans from various people.
After repeated demands from debtor, the father
of five started suffering mental stress which lead to such extreme step, police stated.
On the night between Tuesday and Wednesday, Syed Rasool opened fire on his sleeping family.
Five of them died at the spot, included his wife, three daughters and a son, while the seriously injured 22-year old son, died in the hospital, police stated in FIR.
Police have registered the case and the funeral of the five of the family were offered.
