RAWALPINDI:

Federal Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Maula Bukhsh Chandio has said that the ministry will soon accord approval to the Special Economic Zone Act to promote business culture in the country.

After approval, special economic zones would be established in different areas of the country and tax rebate would be offered to investors for 10 years so that business could flourish, Chandio said.

He was talking to Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) President Ghulam Ali and Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) President Ali Raza Saeed Shah on Wednesday.

He said it was the top priority of the law ministry to provide legal cover and protection to local and foreign investors. “All efforts will be made to facilitate the business community in setting up their businesses,” he added.

RCCI President Ali Raza Saeed Shah said geographically Rawalpindi was an important city as it was linked to Afghanistan, China and Northern Areas.
