ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) has slammed the government’s decision to make further hike in petroleum product prices, taking them to nine-month highs, and termed it an anti-business decision that would increase problems for the private sector and the general public. It called on the government to immediately withdraw the increase in oil prices to save businesses and people from further trouble. In a statement, ICCI President Ahmed Hassan Moughal said the price of crude oil had increased less than 2% in the international market in March, but the government increased petroleum product prices by more than 6%, which was unjustified.
