The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has sent one of its coaches, Shehzad Anwar, to Brazil on a 10-day development programme in hope of initiating a bilateral exchange.
The move comes in hope that Brazil will also send a coach to Pakistan as the PFF aims to improve the country’s Fifa ranking.
According PFF Secretary Ahmed Yar Khan Lodhi, the federation is in talks with the Brazilian ambassador while discussions with Germany, Qatar and Bahrain are also underway.
“We have sent our coach to Brazil and we hope that they will send someone in exchange,” Lodhi told The Express Tribune. “The Brazilians have shown positive signs. We have given similar offers to Germany, Bahrain and Qatar too.”
Former Tottenham Hotspur player Graham Roberts had trained the Pakistan team for the Asian Games last year but the PFF failed to finalise any deal with the Englishman due to lack of funds.
