Khwaja Izharul Hasan, three others injured in road accident
The MQM-P leader said to be in critical condition is now recovering post-surgery at AKUH

Muttahida Quami Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Khwaja Izharul Hasan and his three guards were injured in a road accident near Toll Plaza on Super Highway. The incident occurred while Izhar was coming back to Karachi from Ghotki after meeting Prime Minister Imran Khan late Saturday night. He was shifted to Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH). His condition, and the condition of his guards, was said to be critical. Izhar was scheduled for a surgery on Sunday morning and is now said to be out of danger. He has been shifted to a private room where he is now recovering. His three guards are also under treatment at the same hospital and one of them remains in critical condition.
The driver lost control of the car Izhar was travelling in causing the car to overturn and fall in a ravine. According to MQM-P leader Amir Khan, a squad vehicle also hit Izhar's car from the back after it had met with the accident. The hit resulted in more loss. "Izhar has a deep wound in head but he is out of danger," said Khan. He added that they learned of the incident at 3am.
Seven people killed in Bhakkar road accident
Izhar's family, MQM-P's Amir Khan, Faisal Sabzwari, Sanjway Parwani, Pak Sarzameen Party’s Dr Sagheer Ahmed, and other leaders and workers reached the hospital shortly after learning about the incident.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail and Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar visited Muttahida Quami Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Khwaja Izharul Hasan at the Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) on Sunday to inquire about his health.
The chief minister was accompanied by Sindh Energy Minister Imtiaz Sheikh and Adviser to the Chief Minister on Information, Anti-corruption and Law Barrister Murtaza Wahab. The chief minister also met with Izhar’s doctors and assured Izhar he would be provided with the best treatment. Later, Shah visited Izhar's police guard who is also under treatment at the hospital.
