KARACHI: Pak Suzuki Motor has hiked prices of its vehicles within a range of Rs10,000-Rs100,000 amid slight fluctuations in the rupee.

“This price hike was quite unexpected because previously, automobile companies increased prices following substantial rupee devaluation, but this time, the value of rupee against dollar is fluctuating within a range of a rupee or less,” said All Pakistan Motor Dealers Association (APMDA) President HM Shahzad.

The company increased the price of Mehran VX variant by Rs10,000 to Rs799,000, according to a price notification sent to dealers across the country.

It also elevated the price of Mehran VXR variant by Rs20,000 which is now priced at Rs880,000. The prices of Wagon R VXR and Wagon R VXL models were inflated by Rs40,000 and Rs30,000, respectively to Rs1.26 million and Rs1.34 million.

The Cultus VXR model became costlier by Rs30,000 to Rs1.44 million, while the price tag for Cultus VXL variant went up by Rs20,000 to Rs1.55 million.

Pak Suzuki jacked Bolan Van price from Rs854,000 to Rs874,000 and Cargo Van price from Rs820,000 to Rs840,000. On the other hand, prices for Ravi were jacked up by Rs20,000 to Rs796,000.
