Four-year-old burnt to death in Karachi's Gulshan slum

KARACHI: A young girl was burnt to death while two others were injured when a fire erupted on Thursday in huts settlement in Gulshan-e-Iqbal. The fire was controlled by four fire tenders within an hour.

The huts situated near PTCL office in Block 13-D, Gulshan-e-Iqbal caught fire, the reason of which hasn't been determined. The fire tenders and police authorities reached the site where eight huts were reduced to ashes.

A four-year-old girl, Fatima daughter of Yousuf, was burnt to death while two people were injured, who were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.

According to fire department, they received the information at 2:44pm and managed to control the fire by 3:45pm. The fire tenders, sent from three fire stations, reached swiftly and saved the fire from spreading out to other huts.
