Military awards ceremony held at Corps Headquarters Lahore

A large number of military officials and relatives of martyrs and serving soldiers attended the ceremony

A military awards ceremony was held at Corps Headquarters Lahore on Thursday, a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations said.

According to the statement, Corps Commander Lahore Lieutenant General Majid Ehsan conferred military awards to Army personnel for acts of gallantry during operations, outstanding performances in respective fields and for their long meritorious services.

A large number of military officials and relatives of martyrs and serving soldiers attended the ceremony.

According to the ISPR, 23 officers were awarded Sitara-e-Imtiaz (military), 48 officers were awarded Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (military) and 15 officers and soldiers were awarded Tamgha-e-Bisalat.

Medals of martyrs were received by their family members.

On Wednesday, two teenagers, battling cancer, were granted their wish to become soldiers for a day by Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

The girls, 13-year-old Javeria Alam and 15-year-old Ruba Rafique, wer met by the Lahore corps commander on behalf of the army chief and made honoury soldiers for the day.

Jeveria and Ruba laid a floral wreath at the Yadgar-e-Shuhada and offered prayers at the monument.
