Colours of diversity at PNCA in Islamabad on Pakistan Day

Number of events held across twin cities to rouse patriotism

ISLAMABAD: Cultural events were held in the twin cities to mark the Pakistan Day.

Pakistan Nation Council of the Arts held multi facet programmes exhibition and cultural shows.

An Exhibition of photographs titled “A Thousand words” by renowned photographer Azhar Hafeez has reflated the beauty of Pakistan. Azar Hafeez has captured the beautiful flora fona of Pakistan .His breath taking images of life and landscape is a tribute to the heroes of Pakistan. The exhibition will continue till April6.

Artistes from all over Pakistan were invited for manifestation of the colours of cultural diversity of the country. National and folk music and dances representing all area of Pakistan were presented in the mega event held at PNCA Auditorium Islamabad.

Jangi Khan and his son Muhammad Gull presented the melodious songs of  Baluchistan. Renown singer of the Saraiki belt Naeemul Hasan Bublo from Multan Presented popular geet and songs and received great applause from the audience.



Sindhi artist Bushra Marvi presented popular Sindhi folk music Kashmire artist Bano Rahmat expressed solidarity with Pakistan through Kashmiri folk music and songs. Renowned singer Gulshion Jahan received applause for her best Punjabi presentation.

The colour of Gilgit Baltistan was presented by Manzoor Hussan. The artistes of National Performing Arts Group (NPAG) presented colourful regional dances a Pakistan. Rizwana Kausar and ishaq Ghori from federal capital Islamabad presented national songs. The audience appreciated the efforts of PNCA and said that on such occasions we see the true cultural face of Pakistan and the young generation got to know about the Pakistani arts and culture.

RCA stages Pakistan Zindabad

A stage play Pakistan Zindabad was performed on Saturday in connection with Pakistan Day celebrations at Rawalpindi Arts Council.

The play conveyed the spirit and message of patriotism. The play was written and directed by senior artistes Yar Muhammad while famous artist Masood Khawaja, Hameed Babar, Sapna Shah and others including Yar Muhammad acted in the play.

The play was based on social issues whereas it concluded with the message that the country's interest must be preferred before personal interest and the people should register their due part in the development of it. Director RAC Waqar Ahmed addressing at the end of the play said that Pakistan is a blessing of God.

Traffic restored

Meanwhile with the end of the Pakistan Day parade, Metro Bus service was restored. Later in the day, traffic diversions were also removed while cellular services were turned on in the evening.

Cleanliness drive

A flag hoisting and cake cutting ceremony was held at Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) to mark Pakistan Day and also to celebrate the completion of a cleanliness drive.



Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) has cleared up some 7,000 tons of garbage from Rawalpindi city and suburbs during its cleanliness drive from March 18 to 23. Rawalpindi Deputy Commissioner and RWMC Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa appreciated the efforts of the company and Albayrak Group on the success of the cleanliness drive. The chairman, during the cleanliness drive, had also gone door-to-door to distribute waste bags amongst the public to create awareness. Further, Randhawa also went to different markets and  created awareness regarding the clean environment amongst the shopkeepers as well.

Some 7,000 tonnes of waste was dumped at Lusar dumping station from different areas including Rawalpindi, Gujjar Khan,Taxilla, Kallar Sedyan and Kahuta.

RWMC Secretary Dr Rizwan Ali hoisted national and Turkey flags as well as cut cake along with the other high officials of the company.

Muhammad Ali Randhawa said the purpose of the drive was to deliver the message that cleanliness was a part of our faith. He added that we could prevent several diseases by keeping our environment clean.

Subsequently, the chairman kicked off the plantation drive by planting a tree at Muslim Secondary High School.
