RAWALPINDI: Police in Rawalpindi claimed to have arrested a suspect for running drug trafficking ring and also killing a policeman in 2010. According to SHO Imran Abbas the alleged drug trafficker identified as Muhammad Aslam was running illegal trade for the past 15 years.

He said that police acting on a tip-off conducted a raid in the Jhanda Chichi area and arrested the wanted suspect.

During the raid, police also recovered three kilogrammes of hashish from Aslam. SHO Abbas further disclosed that the suspect was supplying drugs to students in educational institutions.

He said that Aslam has killed Constable Muhammad Kamran during an encounter in 2010 when police had raided his den. Police have booked the suspect under relevant clauses of the penal code and started interrogation.
