In Karachi, the festivities were in full swing with members of the Hindu community gathering at temples, and other places, in celebration of the festival of colours.
PM Imran felicitates Hindu community on Holi
A mega event was held at the Shri Panchumukhi Hanuman Temple in Soldier Bazaar and another was hosted in Clifton. Other areas too witnessed the play of music, song, dance and colours.
The Holi festival is celebrated every year to honour of the advent of spring. Members of the Hindu community offered prayers, showcased traditional dandia dances, sprayed each other with colours, and marked the festival with great fervour and zeal. Members of other communities also joined in the festivities in some places.
Local governments in major cities, including Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Mithi, Umerkot and Thar region ensured cleanliness of areas surrounding the temples and other holy places.
Several politicians including Prime Minister Imran Khan, Pakistan Peoples Party Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, among others, wished the Hindu community a happy Holi. The festivities will continue today (Thursday).
