Industry expresses concern over rising inflation
ICCI expresses grave concerns over rising inflation, specifically in food items
ISLAMABAD:
The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) expressed grave concerns over the rising inflation, specifically in food items. It has called upon the government to take urgent remedial measures for saving the common man from further troubles on account of rising prices of daily use items. ICCI President Ahmad Hassan Moughal lamented that due to rising inflation, purchasing power of consumers was reducing and this situation was increasing the miseries of general public besides affecting business activities. “The hike in inflation can be judged from the fact that price of green chillies in wholesale market has risen to Rs140 per kg from Rs12-15 per kg,” he voiced concern. “This item is selling at retail level in the rate of Rs240-320 per kg.”
