Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz on Monday slammed the Imran Khan-led government for not allowing her to meet her ailing father Nawaz Sharif at Lahore's Kot Lakhpat jail.

Maryam spoke out via Twitter, saying she is still waiting to be given permission to meet the three-time premier even after five days since her last visit.

"He [Nawaz] is unwell and not only me but his personal physician also has not been allowed to see him," she wrote on the micro-blogging website.

PTI accuses Sharif family of politicising Nawaz’s health issue

She ended her tweet cryptically saying the,"Force of retribution never sleeps."

Despite several attempts by the Sharif family, the disqualified prime minister, who is suffering from heart related illness, refused the government’s medical treatment citing "disdainful behaviour" of the PTI-led government.

Nawaz was sentenced to a seven-year rigorous imprisonment and hefty fine imposed by the accountability court on December 24 last year after he was found guilty in Al-Azizia corruption reference.
