Islamabad Inspector General Police Muhammad Amir Zulfiqar Khan has already directed all police officers of the district to continue intelligence based operations in their respective jurisdiction and keep all personnel on high security alert.
Additional Superintendent of Police Hasaam bin Iqbal has directed all police officials to ensure high vigilance while performing security duties on Pakistan Day. Giving security related briefings to all police officials at Rescue 15 following directions of Islamabad DIG Waqaruddin Syed, he said that fool proof security should be ensured in the capital.
All Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs), Station House Officers (SHOs), Muharrars of police station and other police officials from the operational wing were also present on the occasion.

Moreover the Additional SP directed for effective patrolling in the city and stated that strict checking at the entry and exit points of the city should be ensured.
He said that effective combing and search operations should be ensured in various areas of the city including Afghan habits, slum areas, hotels, inns and restaurants. He directed that relevant SDPOs/DSPs should monitor the search operation themselves without creating any inconvenience for citizens.
He also directed that strict action be taken against those involved in selling or flying kites, aerial firing and pigeon racing activities.
He added that strict checking be ensured especially from March 17 to March 23 and security to be made more effective in the vicinity of the parade ground.

The Additional SP further stated that the whole district has been divided into four sectors and officers of SP rank would supervise the overall security arrangements in their respective beat. Similarly, he said that officers of DSP rank would be responsible for security in sub-sectors while patrolling as well as mounting policing would be deployed in rural belts and jungle areas.
He informed that all mobile and eagle vehicles, Falcon and ARF squads would conduct checking of suspects and suspicious vehicles during patrolling. He said that various police pickets have been created for security purposes and roof top duties have been also assigned to policemen. A sluggish attitude in performance of security duties would not be tolerated, he added.
