Balloting for government Hajj Scheme to be held tomorrow

Over 216,000 Hajj applications submitted

The Ministry of Religious Affairs will conduct balloting for the government's Hajj Scheme on Tuesday, Radio Pakistan reported on Monday.

The balloting will be performed by Minister for Religous Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Dr Noorul Haq Qadri.

So far, over 216,000 hajj applications have been updated online by designated banks and the banks have been directed by the religious affairs ministry to complete the online entry of the Hajj applicants at the earliest and clear cheques and drafts of prospective pilgrims.

The balloting for prospective pilgrims was delayed by a day on the request of banks.

The minister also said that awareness campaigns will be held in all provinces to guide the pilgrims.

Talking to the state broadcaster, he advised all intending pilgrims to participate in the awareness campaigns to receive information regarding the proper way of performing Hajj and other relevant matters.

Qadri added that the ministry is taking all measures to facilitate the intending pilgrims.
