Yasinzai emphasizes need for forensic laboratory for DNA tests

Balochistan Governor Justice (retd) Amanullah Khan Yasinzai has stressed the need for the promotion of science and technology in the province and urged the people to acquire expertise in the field of information technology to meet the challenges of modern world.
Addressing a meeting at the Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS), the governor remarked that DNA was an important test for collection of evidences these days.

“The judicial system has changed and now in civil and criminal laws, DNA is a key and solid evidence for every case,” Yasinzai said.
He emphasised the need for a forensic laboratory for DNA tests in the province, saying that with the setting up of such a laboratory at BUITEMS, latest methods of technology would be promoted in law and justice.
Yasinzai said the data of every person in the province would be recorded once the lab was set up.
Balochistan Chief Secretary Dr Akhtar Nazir, Vice Chancellor Farooq Bazai, Inspector General Mohsin Hassan Butt and Deputy Inspector General Abdul Razzaq Cheema also attended the meeting.
