Athletics: Lemaitre defeats Chambers

STOCKHOLM: Christophe Lemaitre beat Britain’s Dwain Chambers as he stormed to victory in the 100m at the European Team Championships. The Frenchman clocked a blistering 9.95 seconds in the showpiece event on the first day of competition in Stockholm. Russia are on top of the standings with 213 points, Germany second with 183.5 points and Ukraine are in third place with 160 points.
