KARACHI:

Police clinched the men’s National Netball Championship after defeating Pakistan Army 3-1 in the final. The winners outplayed the defending champions 8-7 in the first quarter before Army hit back 16-12 in the second.

Army continued their dominance but Police recovered during the third quarter to eventually clinch it 30-25. The eventual champions contained Army in the final quarter 48-43 to win the overall battle 3-1 and avenge last year’s defeat against the same opposition.  “Revenge is sweet,” Police captain Mohammad Ali told The Express Tribune. “We fought hard last year but after this match, we’re even.”

Meanwhile, Punjab defeated Sindh 3-1 to secure third place in the tournament.
