New evidence in rape, murder case

After police receives the results of DNA samples of three suspects

KARACHI:
Police said on Saturday that it had received the results of DNA samples of three suspects, accused in raping and killing of a 10-year girl, K*, in Bin Qasim Town.

DNA samples and organ specimen had been collected from the victim's body, which were then cross-checked with the DNA samples collected from the detained suspects.

The police had arrested 16 suspects in this case and after investigation, released 13 of them. Three suspects are still in police custody.


10-year-old girl raped, choked to death

The unidentified accused raped a minor, strangulated her to death and then abandoned her body in a water tank on the third floor of a building in the Railway Colony near Landhi Railway Station. The body was recovered on Thursday and shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) where doctors confirmed that she was raped and strangled. The victim girl's father told police that his daughter was first kidnapped and then sexually assaulted.
