ISLAMABAD: Federal Ombudsman Syed Tahir Shehbaz has directed all the institutions of the federal government to complete all cases of pension within a month and start the e-filing of the pension.

Addressing a high-level meeting to examine the complaints related to disbursement of pension, he said that pensioners faced many issues, but the biggest one was not receiving pension on time.

He said that ideally retired employees should be given pension checks on the day after retirement. For this, he said that the retired employees’ documents will have to be processed 15 months before retirement.

He underscored that a strategy to address the reasons behind delay in pension would be adopted.

The meeting was attended by the officers of the finance ministry, communication division, foreign ministry, power division and other institutions. Hafiz Ahsan Ahmed, the senior adviser of the federal ombudsman, gave a detailed briefing on the steps taken by the federal ombudsman.
