An official of Wanikay Tarar police station told Express News that Zameerul Hassan, a resident of Behek Ahmed Yar Village, had fallen in love with a woman identified as Sana, who resided in the same area. He added Zameer wanted to marry her and sent a marriage proposal to her father.
The official said that the woman’s father refused to marry her daughter with him.
Later, he pointed out that Sana tied the knot with another man identified as Ali Hassan and started living in another village. He highlighted that after a few weeks of the marriage, Ali and his wife Sana came to Behek Ahmed Yar Village to attend a funeral.
When Zameer learnt about their presence, he immediately reached the spot and opened fire on Ali. As a result, he suffered critical bullet injuries and was shifted to a hospital but he could not survive.
After the incident, the victim’s family members and relatives staged a protest against the killing. They demanded of the police to nab the culprit and provide them justice.
Meanwhile, the police have registered a case and started a hunt for the accused.
In a similar incident on February 26, a man committed suicide after killing a girl over a marriage dispute in Sahiwal.
Reportedly, Mujahid, a resident of 48-GD Village, had fallen in love with 20-year-old Erum. The couple wanted to marry each other, therefore Mujahid decided to send a marriage proposal to Erum’s parents.
When the accused went to meet her parents and showed his desire to marry her, they rejected his proposal. After the refusal of marriage proposal, Mujahid got dejected and he decided to murder the girl.
On the day of the incident, the assailant barged into the victim’s house and shot her dead. After carrying out the murder, the suspect also shot himself and ended his life.
