Army promises security to Kohlu mine workers

Local leaders ask CM to take initiative for development of area

QUETTA: Pakistan Army's Colonel Muhammad Hammad on Wednesday visited the new coal mines discovered from Panza area of district Kohlu and reviewed the ongoing work to extract coal from them.

While speaking to the local tribal leaders and workers, Colonel Hammad has said the new coal resources would bring development and happiness in this area.

“I congratulate the people of this area on discovery of new resource.  We will work for the success of this coal project and change the lifestyle of the people in this area. Full security would be provided to the labourers, workers and local resident,” said Colonel Hammad.

Speaking on the occasion, tribal leader Surat Khan Marri said work on developing the mines has been under way for the past one month. Another leader, Mir Khuda Bux Marri, said people in this area are facing difficulties and survival is hard for them. “Poverty is a big issue of this area. The new coal mines would bring job opportunities for the people in Kohlu,” he added.

The tribal leaders said they needed a better road infrastructure in this area. They demanded that Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal and provincial minister Mir Naseebullah Marri take initiatives for development of the area and for success of coal project.
