ISLAMABAD: Rejecting the Indian allegations in the wake of Pulwama attack, National Assembly Standing Committee on Defence Monday unanimously approved a joint resolution extending its full support to armed forces in case of any aggression launched by India.

Under the chairmanship of Amjad Ali Khan, the committee expressed its displeasure on a baseless propaganda/story shown by Indian media and irresponsible statement of Indian prime minister.
Defence Minister Pervez Khattak said Pakistan is ready and will respond to Indian aggression in a decisive manner. However, he again offered India to come on dialogue table for resolving the issues.

The committee in its resolution condemned the groundless allegations leveled by India and held complete trust on country’s armed forces.

The committee stands by the prime minister’s orders for armed forces to take strong action against India’s warmongering. The nation fully supports the armed forces in its efforts of protecting the nation, it added.
The meeting was attended by MNAs Tahir Sadiq, Syed Faizul Hassan, Aurangzeb Khan Khichi, Jamil Ahmed Khan, Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, Ghous Bux Khan Mahar, Rubina Irfan, Chaudhry Muhammad Barjees Tahir, Riaz ul Haq, Muhammad Khan Daha, Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzda, Khursheed Ahmed Junejo, Aftab Shahban Mirani, Salahuddin Ayubi and senior officers of Ministry of Defence.

The committee unanimously confirmed minutes of its previous meeting held February 12, and also considered Public Sector Development Programme projects received from the ministry.

After deliberation, the committee recommended all projects and asked Ministry of Finance to provide required funds.

The necessities of armed force regarding defence budget of next financial year was also reviewed in the in-camera meeting of the committee.
Talking to media, the minister said blame game is the old habit of India. Pakistan will respond to threats with practical actions, he warned.
“We invited India for dialogue in the past and now once again we are offering the same,” he said, “The reason of tension in India is because of upcoming elections but it will become normal”.

He maintained that the PM Imran Khan had also sought actionable evidence from India.

Chairman Amjad Ali said that the nation is not afraid of Indian threats.
“We support the struggle of Kashmiris for independence. The issue of Kashmir and Indian allegations is not new,” said Amjad.

He demanded that India should first scrutinize its own actions and give the right to self-determination to the Kashmiris.
