Water, sanitation to be part of curriculum

Courses will focus on conserving water and resources

PESHAWAR: Water and Sanitation Services Peshawar (WSSP) and Unicef on Monday agreed to jointly prepare courses on importance of water and sanitation.

They agreed to involve environmental experts, educationists and ulema in preparing the courses that would sensitise students and teachers on water, sanitation and hygiene.

The decision to this effect was taken at a meeting held here with WSSP Chief Executive Officer Syed Zafar Ali Shah in the chair. Among the participants were Director Directorate of Curriculum and Teachers Education Gohar Khan, Unicef representatives Shoaib Khan and Mamona.

It was decided that Unicef and WSSP will develop contents, both theoretical and practical courses, on WASH that will be made part of syllabus from class I to 10th grades.
