HEC lauds partner universities for enrolling 3,391 students

At the second meeting of the steering committee

ISLAMABAD: The second meeting of the steering committee for the project entitled “Establishment of Sub-Campuses of Public Sector Universities at District Level Phase-I” was held at Higher Education Commission, Islamabad. HEC Chairman Dr Tariq Banuri chaired the meeting that was attended by representatives of provincial higher education departments and vice chancellors of partner universities.

The chairman highlighted the main objectives of government’s policy to increase access of higher education in the country without compromise on its quality.

The steering committee reviewed progress of the project. It was appreciated that 19 campuses have been established in remote and less developed districts, previously having no higher education institution, and are imparting quality education to students of these areas.
