Expat widow’s house usurped in Gujjar Khan

RAWALPINDI: A British-Pakistani widow has complained to the police and the British High Commission that her house in Gujjar Khan has been usurped. Zamar Akhtar has reached out to Rawalpindi City Police Officer (CPO) told him that her husband Azam Khan hails from Gujjar Khan and lived with her in Britain for 40 years, adding that the couple holds dual nationality — Pakistani and British. She stated that her husband had started building their house on 18 marlas of land in their native village in 2004. The house was looked after by her brother-in-law.  On January 25, when, she came returned to Pakistan along with her son — who is also a British national — she saw her house was in an abysmal state. With the approval of her brother-in-law, she started repairs on the house and erected a boundary wall. Despite that, the construction of the boundary wall sparked differences between her and brother-in-law.
