Emergency declared in Balochistan's Lasbela after flash floods
Pakistan Army called in to assist with rescue and relief operations

The provincial government on Thursday declared an emergency in Balochistan's Lasbela district and called in assistance from the Pakistan Army after torrential rains lashed the region causing flash floods.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Lasbela, a rescue operation is in progress to evacuate around 200 families trapped in a village in the district.
Eight injured as hailstorm, rain lash city
Four helicopters of Pakistan Army will also take part in the rescue and relief activities on Thursday, added the official.
Home Minister Ziaullah Longove visited affected areas of the province and said relief goods have been dispatched to the region.
Most of district Kech also received substantial rainfall, as a result of which all rivers and water channels including Kech Kaur started flowing heavily. Seven people, including minor children were stranded in the middle of the river. Commissioner Mekran Division sent a team of rescue experts including professional swimmers to rescue those stranded.
Heavy rain, snowfall expected in different parts of the country
The province's Awaran district also received torrential rain and phone connections were disrupted. The district's DC was informed via a satellite phone of the situation.
