LAHORE:

A case has been registered against six people, including police officials, for brutally torturing an eight-year-old boy in custody. Three people have been arrested in this case.

Reportedly, an eight-year-old boy was brutally assaulted within the Sher Shah police limits. Officials had taken the child into custody after he was accused of stealing a mobile phone. However, when officials were unable to make headway in the case, they handed him over to his family.

Allegedly, a conman had brought eight-year-old Ahmed with him to a mobile store where he pretended the child was his brother. Ahmed was on his way home after dropping off his sister at school when he encountered the man, Express News reported.

However, the conman left the boy to face the music after stealing a mobile phone. When the shopkeepers realised that the man had stolen something, they physically assaulted Ahmed in order to determine the whereabouts of the unidentified man.

When they did not manage to get any information out of the child, they called the police. Green Town Police Station ASI Saeed Ahmed reached the spot and took the boy into custody. Subsequently, police officials brutally assaulted the boy in order to get him to confess.

They also forced him to drop his pants and sit on a heater which caused burn injuries to his backside. Meanwhile, Ahmed’s mother learnt of the whereabouts of her son after she went to the police station to register a missing persons report. After the incident came to light, a case was registered against six people, including the ASI and three of them were arrested.
