SNGPL cuts supply to 6,500 defaulters across K-P

The raiding teams got dozen people arrested by police for illegal connection

PESHAWAR: The task force of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Company Limited (SNGPL) has disconnected gas supply of over 6,500 bill defaulters across Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

The raiding teams got a dozen people arrested by the police for having illegal connection and also filed FIRs against them. SNGPL officials said that the task force set up to control gas theft has cut off the supply of 14 illegal power generation units and also confiscated the power generation equipment from the premises.

The task force also conducted operations in districts Kohat and Karak and closed the connected of 21 plaster of paris companies. It also disconnected the illegal supplies to hotels, restaurants, bakeries and homes in the twin districts.

While commenting on the operation of the task force SNGPL spokesperson said the department has also carried out grand operations in the rural area of Peshawar and severed 213 illegal gas connections and also confiscated the pipeline network of 2,300 feet gas network in the area.
