Intelligent and effective: Celebs laud PM Imran's speech on Pulwama

Armeena Khan, Mawra Hocane, Shaan Shahid and other praised the premier for his stance on the matter

Addressing the nation on Tuesday, Prime Minister Imran Khan said Islamabad was willing to act upon ‘actionable intelligence’ after sections of the Indian government and media accused the country of being involved in the Pulwama suicide attack in occupied Kashmir.

The premier said the country would act against any individual who used Pakistani soil to plan or execute the attack.



Khan's powerful speech was lauded by fans and celebs alike. Mawra Hocane, Ali Zafar, Hamza Ali Abbasi and others took to Twitter to praise the PM and his stance on the matter.

Mawra Hocane:

"PM offers new solutions to old problems in an extremely intelligent and effective speech. Thank you Imran Khan. Always praying for dialogue and peace and more love in this region of this beautiful world! InshAllah"



Ali Zafar:

"Listen with an open heart and mind devoid of ego, bias or hatred. If can’t, listen again after a few days in a moment of peace."



Hamza Ali Abbasi:

"I really hope the Indian masses can listen to PM Imran Khan's words and realise what kind of nonsense there media is feeding them on orders from there Govt."



Armeena Khan:

"BBC is this what heard you from the whole speech? We heard an invitation to dialogue, peace offering, cooperation, rejecting escalating violence and not pushing each other into corners. Let me correct your headline for you: “PM offers new solutions to old problems.”"

Shaan Shahid:

"Dear prime minister, yeh hota hay qaum say Khitab (this is how you address a nation!) Proud moment."



Khan, in his speech offered dialogue between the countries to resolve ongoing issues.

“I would like to make the Indian government an offer, If you have actionable evidence, share it with us. We will take action. Not because we are under pressure, but because it is our policy,” he said.

The prime minister also warned India of retaliation in the event of any aggressive military measures by New Delhi following allegations of Islamabad’s involvement in the Pulwama attack.

“Pakistan will not think about retaliation, we will retaliate. You will leave us with no other option,” said the premier.
