Woman, daughter tortured, abducted in Mian Channu

Police said accused wanted to grab victims’ property

A woman and her daughter were abducted by armed men in Mian Channu on Tuesday. The police claimed to have arrested two suspects in this regard.

Saddar Police Station SHO Riaz Lothar told Express News that more than a dozen armed suspects barged into the house of 55-year-old Raj Bibi and her 35-year-old daughter Kausar Bibi in 122/15-L Village. He added the accused asked the women to sign a blank piece of paper but when they refused, the outlaws subjected them to brutal torture.

The SHO maintained that the culprits dragged both the victims into a car and escaped. He revealed the criminals also looted cash Rs0.14 million, jewellery and other valuables from the house.


The police official highlighted that the accused had a property dispute with the victims. He said the outlaws wanted to grab their property and kidnapped them to take possession of it.

Riaz revealed that the police arrested two suspects in connection with the incident. He said during interrogation, the culprits disclosed that the abducted women had been kept at a hide-out in Jhang District.

The SHO pointed out that a case had been registered against the accused and a team had been formed to recover the victims.

Earlier, two women were abducted in Pakpattan. In the first incident, I*, a resident of Chak Jhaghan Kend Lal, was travelling with his 15-year-old daughter when accused Amir and his two accomplices abducted the girl and escaped from the spot.

Similarly, a farmer of Chak No 345-EB, was on his way to bazaar for shopping with his wife K* when accused Jalal, Iqbal and Bilal abducted the woman.
