Modi back in the game?

Prime Minister Imran Khan has rightly asked India to bring actionable proof of involvement of Pakistan in the February 14 Pulwama incident in occupied Kashmir and has offered full cooperation by the Government of Pakistan in investigations of the tragic incident. But so far there is no sign of Indian intransigence subsiding. Imran Khan has justifiably stated that Pakistan itself is a victim of terror having lost 70,000 lives to acts of terrorism. The organisation that claimed responsibility for the suicide bombing is proscribed in Pakistan. Moreover, an Indian military commander has said the explosives used in the bombing were procured locally. It is also known that the vehicle used for the attack was a Mahindra SUV vehicle.

So the whole thing points to one thing: the next general elections in India scheduled to be held in April-May. One does not have to wrack one’s mind much to know who engineered the Pulwama incident. Only those who have their eyes at the back of their heads cannot see through the sinister BJP game. The Pulwama incident bears all the hallmark of a typical Modi style of politics. The BJP and Modi are the only beneficiaries of the incident. The Indian PM is synonymous with hate and all that goes against human decency. This fact has once again been brought home by the rising war rhetoric of the government headed by this despised politician after the Pulwama incident. Most Indians say he does not listen and only talks. He himself claims he is an astute politician; he has super understanding of the intricacies of politics; and he knows how to devise a political strategy to ensure an election victory for his party. The BJP engineered the worst anti-Muslim pogrom in Gujarat in 2002 when Modi was the state chief minister. His training as an RSS activist, an atmosphere of fear prevailing among the minorities in India after he became the prime minister and his entire track record prove the point.

In the aftermath of Pulwama incident, Kashmiri Muslims are being attacked in different parts of India. The situation is so grave that Amnesty International has asked the Indian government to ensure security to Kashmiri Muslims.
