IPC plans to become paperless

Ministry to shift to paperless ecosystem and E-governance system in a phase-wise manner

ISLAMABAD: The federal inter-provincial coordination ministry has decided to upgrade its departments and it intends to seek some Rs53 million from the finance ministry in the upcoming budget for the fiscal year 2019-2020.

According to initial budgetary documents available with Daily Express, the ministry and with its related departments and divisions hope to become paperless by shifting to a paperless ecosystem and E-governance system in a phase-wise manner.

For this purpose, the ministry will be upgraded in the first phase while the related departments of the ministry will be upgraded in the second phase.

He added that the usage of paper for letters and other official correspondence was part of an archaic system while the government also spent millions on stationery items.

“This initiative would save millions for the government,” he added.
