PM demands action against arrest of PhD scholar

NAB arrested Dr Samad for allegedly misusing his authority

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday slammed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and asked the chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal to take action against those responsible to initiate proceedings against PhD Scholar Dr Samad.

The anti-graft body had arrested Provincial Directorate of Archaeology and Museums Dr Samad in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) for allegedly misusing his authority.

In a Twitter post, on Saturday, the prime minister called it a disgraceful act and demanded action against those responsible.



Dr Samad is the only PhD in Sanskrit in Asia from Germany, a Fulbright scholar and a gold medalist in archaeology.

Dr Samad was accused of making appointments at different archaeological sites in gross violations of rules.
