Bajaur labourers laid to rest amid calls for justice, compensation

Three labourers from Utman Khel were killed on the night between Tuesday and Wednesday

KHAR: Hundreds of people converged on Friday in Bajaur to bid final farewell to three labourers who were killed in Naudehro town of Larkana district in Sindh earlier this week.

Three labourers from Utman Khel area of Bajaur Rais Khan, Waheed and Arab Gul were killed by unidentified people on the night between Tuesday and Wednesday. The crime has been termed as ethnically motivated and an attempt to create strife between Sindhi and Pashtun people.

Besides family, friends and community, political leaders and parliamentarians were also present at the funeral prayers of the three labourers from Bajaur. Leaders of various political parties in Bajaur have shown their concern over the killing and demanded justice for the victims.

Bodies of the deceased labourer killed on Wednesday night at Naudhero by unidentified person have reached to Bajaur on Thursday night where local were observing protest all the day over the killing of the labourer.

Bajaur Youth Jirga members and leadership of all major political parties were mourning over the killing. All markets were closed on Thursday and Friday in mourning and demanded that culprit should be arrested and punished according to law. They were on the view that the killing aims to bring disharmony between Sindhi and Pashtun people.

Earlier Sindh sports Minister Naisr Hussain Shah along with Senator Farhat Ullah Babar visited the homes of the slain labourers in Bajaur and offered fatiha with deceased family.

Shah while talking to media have told that he visited on the advice of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and have assured the families that police is trying hard to arrest the culprits. He said that the Sindh government will announce Shuhada Package for the martyred labourers.

PTI Parliamentary Leader in Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh also visited the deceased families and offer fatiha with them, he demanded that Sindh Govt to initiate inquiry about the killing and arrest the culprit.
